China Street Fritters!
Serves the best niong hiong guan qiang! This is probably one of the last few stalls in Singapore that sells this kinda food. They used to be my grandparents' neighbours. Check out the picture hung high and proud, that's our 6th President, S. R. Nathan!
Egg fritters is the best!!
Mom's favorite stall of all is teochew porridge from Heng Heng Porridge and rice.
Be prepared to queue for about 20 minutes when you are there!
Sweet potato porridge is the best!!
Maxwell Fuzhou Oyster Cake
This is the authentic oyster cake, unlike those franchise chains we see at shopping malls today. It's only recently that I found out that this stall is run by my friend, Mohan's family!! I was just walking past one afternoon and saw him there!! My dad would always sin on 1 oyster cake ever since we were young.

Fish Soup from Jing Hua Sliced Fish Bee Hoon
This is another stall that always has a queue for at least 20 minutes. Zonia doesn't usually take her fish fried but at Jing Hua she would.

Lunch ended with desserts from Heng Heng ondeh ondeh and tapioca cake stall!!
I've been eating this since I was young. We stopped ordering the ondeh ondeh because standards has dropped. The ondeh ondeh is very dry now, it should always squirt when you bite!!
The tapioca cake is still very good and the best. It's very very soft unlike the tapioca cakes that are sold outside which are very hard with preservatives.
A bag of 4-5 pieces is at $2.

Dinner at Nanxiang Steamed Bun Restaurant at Bugis Junction! This is the second place I go for xiao long bao aside from Din tai fung! I am still religiously on a no/low carbo diet so I try to order more meat and vegetables. Here was what I ordered (:

Big fat sinful Salted egg prawns
Dou Miao with garlic
Dou miao is one of my favorite vegetables! I can finish the whole plate by myself! I especially loveee my vegetables with garlic! (:

This dress is too pretty! Love the red and black combination and especially in love with the hot red chilli color! The material is lightweight and banded at waist. I threw on a simple belt to formalize this piece! I don't have to say more (:
