Crab Shack!

IMG_0961
Sat again and we decided to explore a new place to eat in the heartlands today!

IMG_0962

IMG_0963
Cam whoring in the carpark while waiting for b to pick me up! :D

We decided to visit Crab Shack, back in business after being absent for a few years! Crab Shack went on a 3 year hiatus, and is actually owned by some of b's basketball buddies who decided to give it another go after much feedback asking them to reopen!
IMG_0980
Located at Block 107 Ang Mo Kio Ave 4, whereby carpark was plentiful compared to in the past when they were located in Upper Thomson.
IMG_0982

It's actually in a coffeeshop but from the menu and set up you'd be forgiven for thinking that you were in a proper restaurant! A wide variety of options was upon us and we took a good while before we made up our minds on what to have.

Prices are affordable, and you can have a good proper meal without the restaurant prices, GST, and service charge!

Despite being named as crab shack, this place sells more than just crabs-there's Fish & Chips, Chicken Baked Rice, Chicken Spaghetti besides the crab mains, while several mouth-watering starters for those non-crab lovers as well!

IMG_0983
There's b trying to attract the busy chefs to take our orders cus we were famished!
IMG_0985
They appeared on TV before in a food programme hosted by Michelle Chia and Adrian Pang when they are located in Upper Thomson!
IMG_0987

IMG_0991
Our cute, customized queue number that gave us some interesting tips about crabs!
IMG_0992
Becoming a fan of Crab Shack Facebook page (will tell you why later!)

IMG_0989

IMG_0990
We went with Chicken Baked Rice, Fish & Chips, and Fried Shitake because the first two were their recommended items.

And I've always loved fried Shitake which I usually order when I go to Billy Bombers!

IMG_0993

IMG_0995
2 packs of Ribena which cost us $1.80 each! Things are really expensive nowadays!

IMG_0996

IMG_0997

IMG_0998

IMG_0999
Waiting patiently for the yummy food to arrive even though my tummy was growling at this point hence the sulky face hehe! B took this terrible picture!

IMG_1002
CHICKEN BAKED RICE!

This things that looked like you tiao are actually the chicken which is fried before a layer of cheese is added on top, and interestingly pork floss was added as a topping!

IMG_1008
This fusion dish actually impressed me because the cheese was not too creamy, and the chicken was succulent and was extremely crispy!

IMG_1003
B's Fish and Chips!

I think they used dory fish but the difference between this and most of the Fish and Chips outside is that the batter is EXTREMELY crispy and seriously as close as Fish and Co. standard! It's quite a big piece too so pretty value for money at $6.50!

IMG_1004

IMG_1005
Ready to tuck in!

IMG_1006
Already started without me!

IMG_1007

IMG_1014
Check out how fresh the meat is!

A nice thing as well was that it didn't have the typical "mud" taste that you might encounter when eating freshwater fishes. If I'm not mistaken dory fish is actually saltwater fish hence the lack of smell!

IMG_1009
The Fried Shitake came right after we were battling our respective mains!
Batter was crisp, and the mushrooms juicy. Yum!

IMG_1012
Hello Shitake!

IMG_1015
And the dessert!!!

IMG_1020
This chocolate fudge brownie was highly satisfying for 2 reasons.

Firstly, it's home made-really home made! Unlike most brownies which claim to be home made but actually bought from some place, we could see the chefs baking the brownie and smell the freshly baked brownie in the air! It took a while but it was well worth it! This might be the fudgiest, most chocolaty, and yummiest brownie I've eaten! And best of all, it's not dry. You can see how moist the brownie is!

The 2nd reason for the satisfaction was-it was FREE! Haha!
Basically Crab Shack is running a promotion now-simply show them you are a fan of their facebook page and you can get this dessert free!! Yay!

Who we have today?
The site that religiously launches every 2 weeks, no other than Fabfad!
This collection is a small yet a blast cause of the colors brought in this time round!

I love to play with colors and I believe most of us now do, and they heard our cries for more colors that ZARA and TOPSHOP are having now! My picks this launch gotta be the casuals like the tiered aquamarine top, black top with a heart cut out back! :D

Another feature we have today is March Shop
Back from their sourcing trip and here's what came hot from the oven! (:
I reckon that this collection is very much different from the rest cause the material is really even more fab! And the 2 pieces I rave about at the shoot has the best fab material around!

They are the bodycons of this launch; the maroon toga dress and the purple cut out dress!
The other ones that i really like got to be the casuals like the maxi!

P/s: Lady Gaga is comin to town! ‘Like’ SingTel and see link on how to win 10 tickets to an exclusive #LadyGagaShowcase!

You may also realise that I aint using Formspring anymore! (:
Please leave your queries on the individual posts and I reckon it's better one way or another cause it's beneficial for future readers as well. Formspring has too many repeated queries cause people end up being rather lazy to click the next page. Well, the initial reason why i had Formspring was so there's a page where readers can read those FAQ!

I did have my fun for the past months but not much anymore so i decided to stop. Boyfriend said why do something which i don't enjoy anymore. Which I feel is really true. I love blogging so here I am! With that said, i've replied all comments! Go look for yours! :D

Dory fish is actually catfish and it is not a salt water fish.

If you google dory fish, you will find an article that mentions that they are actually catfish reared in the polluted Mekong river in Vietnam, hence the cheap prices we get in SG restaurants. >.<

it is not recommended to eat too much sugar free chocoltaes. Even though sugar-free chocolates may seem ideal for a diabetic because they do not contain sugar, they also have some serious drawbacks to consider. According to the American Diabetes Association (ADA), sugar-free sweets like chocolates usually have sugar alcohols added to make them taste sweet. Sugar alcohols are low-calorie sweeteners, such as sorbitol and maltitol. The ADA says that sugar alcohols can cause gastrointestinal problems, such as cramping and diarrhea. They are also confusing for diabetics because although sugar-free chocolates do not contain sugar, they can still be high in calories and fat. The ADA explains that diabetics sometimes feel foods with sugar alcohols can be consumed as much as they want, when--in reality--they should be limited.

Of course it's vital to take everything and anything in moderation! (; We understand that! Thanks!

Hi! where do you get those colourful belts for shoots? so pretty! (:

Hi! You can try looking at Novena Square 2, level 3 I think for the chocolates. It's a shop selling tidbits for diabetic people so I think they do sell sugar-free chocolates. Hope it does sell (:
