Hong Kong Day 2

prudential hotel

So after leaving Hong Kong Disneyland, we checked into Prudential Hotel located at Jordan Station. Its a really convenient place to reside in if you plan to visit the night markets in Hong Kong! The hotel is located a few stories above the station; just like Swisotel at Cityhall MRT!

The night wasn't as cold so I decided to be brave and dress down! Wore my denim jumper over a thin cardigan, we hit the streets!

I love lifts like such!!!!

We decided to take Hong Kong the Hong Kong way, so we got train ticket to Mong Kok Station; headed for Argyle Centre which Sheila recommended!

Mong Kok Station is just 2 stations away from Jordan!
We took some pictures on the streets before heading into the shopping centre!

Argyle Centre is definitely the place for girls our age to visit! There you can find very cheap accessories at HKD20 each! You will be spoilt for choice cause there will be many many stores selling their stuff at this price! I got some accessories such as pearl bracelets for myself! Teehee! I bet they are retailing at at least $20 in Singapore.

P/s: Conversion rate is SGD$1 is to HKD6 now.

At Kowloon Station, we also visited the very famous Ladies Street (Nu Ren Jie)!

We shopped quite a bit at Nu ren Jie, there are also a lot of accessories, bags and shoes! If you are a fan of killer heels, you would be able to find tons of them at low prices! I've came across heels that I see from those pre-order website in Singapore! I didn't get any cause I wouldn't want to carry such a load around and afraid my Hello Kitty luggage from Mabel wouldn't be big enough! Plus, i have too many heels to begin with!

I ended up with 2 pairs of sandals. Zonia and I got identical ones at about SGD$6 each! Sandals' straps are flowers with a jewel on the middle of each flower (: Mad love!

Cause it was already quite late, we didn't go anywhere else that night.
We settled dinner at Mong Kok as well and walked the streets.

mr softee van!

Not sure if you guys remember 7-11 used to sell Mr Softee in vanilla/chendol! I used to get the chendol flavor one when I was in Primary school! Zonia and I loved it!!! We were so excited to see the van and wanted to get some ice cream before heading back to the hotel! But auntie softee said the machine was down. So we went back to the hotel; ice cream less ):

We shopped till 11+ that night and there were still tons of people on the streets!

The city that never sleeps?

Before I end this post, a little about shopping at Nu ren jie;

One trick is to walk on if you feel the price is not right! After bargaining, you still don't get your preferred price, just walk on. At Nu Ren Jie, there are many stalls selling exactly the same stuff. In fact, the more you walk down the street, the cheaper the items become! So don't rush into purchases! Zonia and I definitely learnt it the hard way! We got floral cosmetic pouches at HKD120 for 3 after quite a bit of bargaining. The lady wasn't in the best mood when we finally deal-ed.

After walking down, there was this stall selling at HKD30 before negotiating! ): Sad to the max!
I was starting to think why was she so unhappy anyway??!! She already made tons of profits from us HELLO!

Note to self: Never check around for prices after you have made a purchase.
