Hong Kong Day 4

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

We started Sunday really early cause we were on our 4th day already! We left the hotel around 8.30am for our very first dim sum breakfast at Fu Lin Restaurant (where we waited about an hour for dinner the day before!!) !

We always thought that ladies will come with tons of dim sum in their push carts and push around to show us what they have got! But at Fu Lin, we ordered through menus. So I'm not sure if its just the Singapore style cause the other Dim Sum place we visited also served after we ordered from their menu.

Breakfast came in shortly!

The Chee Cheong Fun came plain and the lady poured the sauce after she placed the plate down.
And the waitresses from the kitchen can't serve us, they would wait at the tables and wait for the main waitresses to take the plates from them and place on our tables. Which I think it's just unnecessary!

We just want our food fast!!!

prawn chee cheong fun with cucumbers! cute!

After our sumptuous Dim Sum breakfast, we headed to the train station (MTR) to visit Shenzhen!
We checked with the staff at the Control Station and they advised us to get Tourist Day Pass Ticket which lasts exactly 24hours!

It meant that we could tap in and out as many times as we like. Furthermore, there were unlimited rides for 24hours! What a steal! So if you are planning to take the train frequently in a day, its a saver to get the Tourist Day Pass Ticket.

We boarded the train towards Lo Wu (羅湖) and had to stop at Sheung Shui (上水) before because the Tourist Day Pass couldn't take us there! We got a little tired taking such long train rides and still had to tap out to get another train pass and tap in again. Cause it seemed like Lo Wu is another part which might not be Hong Kong already?

But cheap shopping was in the mind, so move it move it!!! (:

trains to 2 different locations!

There actually have trains on the same platform that goes to 2 different locations! So you gotta pay attention to the flash board or else you will be heading somewhere elseeee! HAHA!

pictures since it was a long long ride!

Daddy wanted to take pictures with every station signage so we tried helping him at certain station! Look at Mama so cute! Wanted to bend down so Papa could have his picture taken with Sha Tian!

And there, there was Immigration Clearance before entering Shenzhen. So remember to bring your passports if you plan to visit Shenzhen.

The train at Shenzhen is called METRO!
Once again, we got reliable directions from the Policemen on patrol! Teehee! Zonia went up to them to ask for good shopping areas!

Just 2 stations away, we headed for Lao Jie (老街)!

I thought it was darn cool! We actually tap with the chip! And when we exit, we slot in! See above picture!!! (: So advanced okay, they using mini chips as MRT tickets okay! Who says China is obiang!

There is a shopping centre smacked at Lao Jie!
Its just like Dhoby Ghaut station that is linked to Plaza Singapura in Singapore! Super good choice! (:

look at the boots!!!!!

I wished we had 4 seasons too, so we all get to dress up! And I can get boots and knitted jackets and hats!!!

Anyway, the shoe shop had the worst service ever! Nowhere in Hong Kong and Singapore have I got such replies. When I saw this pair of heels I liked, I asked for my size to try. The lady said, she will only take it for me to try if i'm going to buy. WTH! Where got people buy shoes don't try their size and see if it fits well right?!

So i told her; Suan Le, WO BU YAO! (Forget it, I don't want it anymore)
Not going to let anyone spoil my mood, Zonia and I walked down to visit more of the stalls! (:

loads of bags!

We left that shopping centre and walked out onto the streets!
Very well developed place! (:

I've got to be honest when I hear Shenzhen, I was hesitant to visit. I had this perception that the place is gonna be run down and messy. But I was wrong. Very very glad I gave the place a try (:

As it was a weekend, there were tons of people on the streets and many were selling stuff on mats!
They sold earphones, toothbrush cases (those to stick on the wall) and toys! The funny thing was, all of them sold the same things! HAHA! Walk down a few "stalls" you see another 1 selling earphones and so on so forth!

We walked a little more around the streets and decided it was time for lunch!
Lao Jie doesn't only have that 1 shopping centre! There are about 3-4 shopping centres all situated next to one another!

We walked into a departmental store which was like Isetan Scotts in Singapore. They had floors and floors of makeup, ladies and men apparels and then restaurants. The lunch experience at Macau wasn't pleasing so we decided to visit a place less dodgy!

I picked a Korean Restaurant (:
Yummy yum yum!

There's appetizers too okay, don't play play!

If you are wondering, the conversion rate is SGD$1=RMB5
Hong Kong's $ is not as strong now, at SGD$!=RMB6.

Mama ordering!

Papa was hungry so he got a Taro Pie from Mcdonald's downstairs while waiting for Zonia and I to meet up with them!

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Shenzhen Mcdonald's has Taro Pie in Pink packaging!! Very good, hope Singapore carries them soon! (:

Here's what we ordered!

very good sushi! we ordered 2 sets!!!

a spread!

After our lunch, we moved on the other shopping centres located at Lao Jie!
There's this building that sells accessories and only accessories!!! Hairpins, bows, flowers, blinged!
I'm a sucker for them, but seeing so many really freaked me out!

My loots from Shenzhen are 2 furry bags, watches for b, 2 hair bow clips as well as some earrings! (:

Mama had initially planned to go back to Hong Kong before the skies turned dark, but cause there were so many shopping places, we were way behind schedule! We became even WAY behind when I chanced upon a massage place located just at Lo Wu. We haven't visited a massage parlor cause the ones we seen are above shop houses and so dark! This one is an open shop at the MRT station just like a convenience shop! Yippeee!

Papa enjoying his shoulder massage!

You would be amazed by the price we paid!

It's 30 RMB for an hour of leg massage and 20 RMB for 1/2 hour of shoulder massage! Totaling to only 50 RMB! They even allowed us to pay either currency, HKD or RMB! Cause we had RMB left and won't be able to use in back in Hong Kong, we used that even though HKD is more economical!

Enjoying my 50 RMB massage!
$10 for 1.5 hours.

Ultimate shiokness that I procrastinated when i had to get up and walk again!
